>> you two you are right yesterday we had widespread deeps fog and we had a dense fog advisory that's not the case this morning. 's. although the -- although the fog is bag in some areas it's dense patchy fog across the area. noid the widespread like -- it's not widespread like yesterday but you need to take it easy put a lot of distance between you and the vehicle in front of you. and have the low beams on n terms of wet weather, we are not seeing it. yesterday morning, we got the rain even this morning we had the rain and things are diminishing. we only will scan the skies for today and once again, temperatures are going to be above average. we are looking at upper 40s in elkton to bel air. let's check the traffic with lauren cook. >> reporter: good morning. as you mentioned, we are dealing with areas of dense fog so be careful. take it slow this morning and use the low beams to navigate through reduced visibility. using the jfx do get downtown no problems. it will be nice and clear from the beltway all the way down to the fayette street.

andwon a medal before his death and his friends showed up wearing newtown wrestling sweat shirts. >> newtown is forever changed and we came today as a teammate because that's who we are and that's who newtown is we are here for the pintos. >> noah is being remembered as boy who loved animal, video games and mexican food. funerals for the other victims will continue throughout the week many it's not clear when the students who survived will be going back to school. the tragedy in newtown. >> the ethical and religious directives. >> has what personal impact here in baltimore with archbishop william lori we caught up with him at the st. joseph medical centerer with spoke about the power of love and passion following the shooting. before coming to maryland he spent 11 years in the southwestern part of the state. >> the community that i know well.

birthday cake and balloons to a member a fight breck out and the visitor ended up with a knife. visitor was taken to jail and the staff member to a local hospital. it's 4:36. time of her death sierra weigh 73 pound and today the woman convicted of starving her to death is up for parole. she has been in prison ten years serving time for the death. she was a foster parent to the teen found beaten and so emaciated that was in baltimore in 2002. three years later, roberts was sentenced to 40 years behind bars. her attorneys tried to appeal her cents on the ground of mental -- sentence on the grounds of mental illness. along the eastern shore, a scary scene. dozens jumped for their lives when the building caught fire. 15 people were hurt jumping to safety from the three-story building in cambridge. official do not believe anyone suffered burns many ryan

news around the nation a homeless man is nearly crushed by a dump struck. -- truck. police in oregon say he wassleeping in the dumpster when they emptied it into the dump truck. they been a to crush the trash and the man and realized someone was inside the truck and stopped and called police. they released the pinned foot of the man and rubbed him to the hospital. she was recently given the title of the oldest woman in the world. and now we have learned that deana has passed away. according to her granddaughter she passed away at an iowa retire center on monday at the age of 115. generous world records gave her the title of the world's oldest person on december 5th after the previous oldest person died at the age of 116. a japanese man 15 days younger is believed to now be the title holder. gas prices under $3 and just in time for the holidays. sources with aaa in north

dakota are seeing a gas battle now taking place. drivers there are seeing prices at 2.99 or lower. they are expecting the prices to stay low throughout the holiday weekend. now in maryland, there are reports of gas prices right now as low as 3.07 and some are as low as 3.02 if you have memberships to bj's sam's or costco. >> people are planning to travel over the holidays and are hoping that sticks around. >> can't complain with that. >> not at all. but for today there is something woke complain about. the fog is out there night going to be a problem today. so stake it slow. it's not quite as bad as yesterday. >> you said it. not quite as bad as yesterday but the people that are getting hit by the fog is bad for them. that's why you need to be careful as you head out and about. have the low beams on and we did have some rain push through earlier this morning. and started -- it started yesterday evening. right now we are dry but you can see back off towards the west, we still have this round of rain that has to move through the area as we go

throughout the day. we have a little bit of a break in the action of the rainfall and get gradual clearing going throughout the day. but, in the meantime, you are heading out the door, make sure to take the rain gear with you and speaking of temperatures, well, it's not as cold just like it was at yesterday but you still need to take a coat with you. that temperature coming in at 50 degrees right now in perry hall. 46 in ijamsville. 50 in elkton and you can see right here that humidity coming in at 100% in perry hall and ijamsville. these are the areas dealing with the dense fog. elkton not so much. but, this is what's going on at the surface for today. so, that warm front is pushed through the area and that's why temperatures will warm up. we are talking about middle to upper 50s today. so temperatures are going to be well above average. future trend not picking up on a whole lot. we see more sunshine as we work our way into wednesday as high pressure will begin to build in here and do its things. but for today we are talking about 58 degrees and we have the fog this morning. gradual clearing. also, it's going to be breezy for today as well.

parents you may want to double check what's under the christmas tree there's a recall on the toy called water balls. it absorbs water and expands 400 times it's original size. that's trouble if a child swallows one of the toys. there are other varieties sold under the recall that includes skulls and hto orbs and this recall happened after a baby needed surgery to have a toy removed. and the easy bake oven is getting a makeover. hasbro is releasing a new look aimed at appealing to boys and girls. the oven is black and silver

ready to open they can let customers in. there are many businesses locked up, people in the area are feeling optimistic that soon things will get back to normal. closer to home, people living along the eastern shore are still trying to piece their lives together after sandy. today the department of aging is going to be giving out meals and household necessities to older people and they will target home bound seniors. in the meantime, they have learned that carroll and montgomery county has been added to the list of counties that can receive disaster aid. as we are weeks and months away from sandy, it's great to see so many people going out and making an effort to get back-- give back to those affected by the storms. >> i love the volunteers helping the home bound seniors. it's great. >> what he going on outside in- - what's going on outside. >> we have fog out there. but slowly but surely we will get gradual clearing as we head throughout the day. that's good news. let's show you what's going on. not only do we have the fog, but we have breezy conditions.

work are showing victims of the sandy hook shooting. in. that they -- shooting to show that they care. >> we are creating a banner and giving people a chance to sign it and we have construction paper where people can create individual cards. and we will send them up to the folks to express our sympathies for what they are going through. it's a tough time especially during the holiday season. >> in addition to the banner, students made individual cards to send to the families. while the students are using cards and been aers to send their support, another group is using the power of puppy love. 9 therapy dogs from the midwest are in town to provide comfort to the children impacted by the shooting. they are especially trained to work with different age groups and a pat on head can be therapeutic for a child going through a crisis. >> it helps them process the grief and they will start crying and hug the dog. and to some children they will come up sad and they will walk
